Globex Global Logistics Sdn Bhd has gained ISO 9001:2015 certification after completing a rigorous two-stage certification audit by TÜV SÜD – one of the world’s leading technical service organisations.
The certification demonstrates Globex’s commitment and ability in providing the highest level of reliable service to its customers.
Globex began their ISO certification process in March this year and concluded with TÜV SÜD, a German certification company, performing the certification audit in two stages in August and September.
“We strive to become Brunei’s leading logistics solution provider offering reliable and consistent service for our customers. This certification shows not only our commitment but our team’s ability to deliver,” Managing Director of Globex Danny Chua said.
“This certificate also represents months of hard work and preparation. The management and staff of Globex have worked hard as a team and succeeded in taking up the challenge of getting the Quality Management System established and implemented to being certified to ISO 9001.
“We hope that this certificate will help us gain more international recognition,” he added.
“We also want to thank DARe (Darussalam Enterprise) for the opportunity to participate in their Standards Consultancy Programme (SCP).
“This programme gave us guidance and more in depth knowledge on the implementation of the ISO. They were also helpful as they were very easy to communicate with,” Chua said.
Jowell A Cerezo, Senior Auditor at TÜV SÜD said: “Quality is never an accident; it is always the result of high intention, sincere effort, intelligent direction and skillful execution; it represents the wish choice of many alternatives.
“The Globex team worked incredibly hard to have all the required procedures in place needed for a quality management system, and I am excited to see how the ISO certification will enhance their company’s performance,” he added.

Meanwhile, DARe CEO Javed Ahmad congratulated Globex on receiving ISO 9001:2015 certification and their initiative to participate in DARe’s SCP, which provides fully sponsored consultancy to local SMEs on specific international standards to prepare them before they undergo the auditing process.
“As one of the first logistics companies in Brunei to be a part of DARe’s SCP, we congratulate Globex on their initiative to seek out and be successfully certified,” said Javed.
“ISO 9001:2015 demonstrates that companies have systems and processes in place to consistently deliver to customers and meet regulatory requirements; achieving the standard provides a base of credibility when doing business locally and internationally.
We hope that more companies will follow Globex’s example and participate in DARe’s SCP as we strive towards helping local SMEs be competitive internationally.”
ISO 9001:2015 sets out the criteria for a Quality Management System (QMS) and the principles include a strong customer focus, the motivation and implication of top management, the process approach and continual improvement.
As part of the requirement of ISO 9001:2015, a total of five Globex staff attended an Internal Auditor Training course to become Internal QMS Auditors. The staff is now responsible for performing internal QMS audits for all departments within the company half yearly.
With their new accreditation, Globex looks forward to serving its customers and the Brunei community with an ever improving standard and quality of service.
